The race for the English Premier League title resumes this weekend as Arsenal look to stretch their lead at the summit in matchday 22.

The Gunners went into the break with a six-point gap between them and second place Manchester City. With the latter away at Manchester United this weekend, Arsenal have the chance to further cement their stay at the top.

Mikel Arteta’s side are in prime position to win their first EPL title since the 2003/04 season. Millions of Arsenal fans across the globe are holding their breath in the hope they can create their own historic fate with a title win.

Aston Villa, Liverpool and Brentford round up the top five places in the league. Despite a three-game unbeaten run for the first time this season, Wolves remain rooted to the bottom with seven points.

Liam Rosenior is set to take charge of his first league game as Chelsea boss. The Blues last league game ended in a 2-1 defeat to Fulham and the pressure is on for the former Strasbourg boss to begin his stint with a win.

Here we have a look at some of the top games lined up in matchday 22 of the EPL and offer our predicted outcomes.

All eyes on the Manchester Derby – Premier League value picks

Chelsea vs Brentford – Saturday, 6PM

With only one win in their last five league matches, the pressure is on at Chelsea. They are currently in eighth place with 31 points.

They face a fifth place Brentford side who are unbeaten in their last five games, winning the last three consecutive matches.

Both matches pitting these two sides against each other last season ended in draws. However, Chelsea have not lost to Brentford since 2023. Igor Thiago will be the main threat for the visitors, having scored 16 goals so far this season.

Prediction – Chelsea to win or draw

Liverpool vs Burnley – Saturday, 6PM

The reds seem to have snapped their poor run of form and come into the game unbeaten in their last five matches. Most recently, beating Barnsley 4-1 in the FA Cup.

They take on a Burnley side who are second from bottom with 13 points, but are coming off a morale-boosting 5-1 FA Cup victory against Millwall.

Liverpool have won all of the last five matches they have played against Burnley, conceding just one goal in the process. Mohamed Salah has not returned from AFCON but Florian Wirtz and Cody Gakpo are primed to start and inspire a victory for the hosts.

Prediction – Liverpool to win

The Playbook: What is a value bet – The secret to long-term wins

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal – Saturday, 8:30PM

With one win and four defeats in their last five games, Nottingham are just a place above the relegation zone with 21 points.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s 3-2 away win against Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi first leg, made it 10 games unbeaten for Mikel Arteta’s side.  They have also won eight of the last 10 matches played against their opponents.

Arsenal have also kept clean sheets in the last three games against Nottingham. However, the hosts are expected to at least get a goal in this tie. The Gunners have scored 14 goals in their last five matches and are tipped as favorites here.

Prediction – Arsenal to win

Egypt vs Nigeria – AFCON bets to bank on

Aston Villa vs Everton – Sunday, 7:30PM

This match pits two teams who are on opposite runs of form, with Everton winning just one of their last five games. Villa on the other hand have only lost once in that run.

Their dismal run of form has left Everton in 12th place with 29 points, while Villa are in third with 43. The Toffees have not beaten Villa in the league since 2023 and will need to be at their best if they are to get even a point from this game.

Prediction – Aston Villa to win
